Communications Telemanagement System (COMET)

The Communication and Network Services department at the University of California, Berkeley, has begun a project to develop and implement a set of computer systems to handle all of the department's essential functions and processes. This set of systems is referred to as the Communications Telemanagement System (COMET).

Timeline:
  • The Mysoft software (with the Mystic addendum) was implemented on September 27, 1999 for data network services.
  • About the new Data Network Order system
  • The Mysoft software was implemented on November 11, 1998 for Residence Telephone Services.
  • The Mysoft software was implemented on November 1, 1997 for voice services.
  • An agreement was signed in December, 1996, with Compco, Inc. to purchase the MySoft Client/Server telemanagement package.
  • The Request for Proposal (RFP) was released to pre-qualified vendors on September 9, 1996.
